I found with my 8th grade team, they think they know it ALL. Seems they are at the peak of their game, and have no intentions of improving. I found a pretty easy way to change their tune, once I started recording their bad habits (mainly with their shooting). I would pull out my cell phone and record a player taking a few jump shots. After a few players saw themselves on film, making mistakes they didn’t even realize they were making, they became extremely easy to coach and willing to learn. They also became fairly proficient shooters.
